Phosphenes Film & Design LLP came together in 2013 to experiment with the combination of film-making and fine art.
Our strong base in fine art and film making techniques give us a unique ability to deliver strong ideas with creative flair. Our work includes a TV series for children (short films & documentary), illustration, design, photography, online communication and video production for a wide range of clients.
We work closely with our clients to deliver the best possible results .
phosphenes: [fos´fēn] n. ORIGIN late 19th cent.: Formed irregularly from Greek phōs ‘light’ + phainein ‘to show’.
Visual perceptions seen in darkness or upon eye stimulation, are hypothesized to have influenced the geometric designs found in some cave paintings. These entoptic phenomena, also known as entoptics, are often characterized by simple shapes like dots, lines, and grids.
Research suggests that these naturally occurring visual experiences may have inspired early artists to create similar abstract markings in cave art.
